Did you know that "Linux" actually came from the word Linuxasaurus? Yes, it's a flightless bird(resembling very much like the penguins) that lived during the end of the Jurassic era. Linus Torvalds who is said to have started the OS (later you'll find out if Linus really started the OS)thought why not name his creature "Linux." Now you know.

 

Another trivia about the system is that it's logo is a penguin named Linux NOT Tux. Wow! How COOL is that?

 

There are rumors that Linus Torvalds did not start the system but his father did! When Linus was in high school, he discovered(in their basement) that his father was working on a system that works like Unix. Another interesting story about Linux is that it's primary developer(Linus) is a distant cousin of Bill Gates! Yes! BILL GATES of MICROSOFT!! Their are rumors that Bill told Linus to develop the system so people (especially hackers) would not bother to think that Microsoft is monopolising the computer market!!
